Depending on your location, the energy retailers in the table below can help arrange your new gas connection and meter installation in our natural gas network. Once connected to gas, you can then choose from a wider range of energy retailers for billing purposes.

Finding an energy retailer for new connections
The energy retailers listed in the table below can assist you with your new gas connection, whether that's to request the service line (this is the connection from the gas main in the street to the gas meter location on the property) or the gas meter.
- Customers in South Australia, Queensland, and around the Wagga Wagga area in NSW are also able to contact us, Australian Gas Networks (as the natural gas distributor in these areas), direct for the service line connection - just call our Customer Service Team on 1300 001 001 (choose Option 2 for new connections).
- All requests for a gas meter installation must be made via an energy retailer, details as listed below.

NOTES.
1a Origin Energy is currently the only energy retailer servicing the following regions in SA: Freeling, Nuriootpa, Angaston, Tanunda, Murray Bridge, Mt Gambier, Pt Pirie, and Whyalla.
1b Australian Gas Networks has a reticulated LPG network in some new estates in Mt Barker (e.g. Glen Lea, Springbrook). New service line requests in this network should be directed to Australian Gas Networks (contact 1300 001 001, option 2). New meter requests need to be directed to ELGAS as the sole energy retailer for this network.
2 Mildura (VIC) customers can either contact Origin Energy for a new gas connection, or our Customer Service Team on 1300 001 001. Origin is currently the only natural gas energy retailer for the Mildura region.
3 Per current market rules in Victoria, new connection requests for properties outside of Mildura must be lodged via an energy retailer.
4 Origin Energy and Red Energy are currently the only energy retailers accepting new connection requests for domestic customers in and around the Wagga Wagga (NSW) region (however, other energy retailers may be contracted for billing - see next section).
5 NSW customers in and around Albury and the Murray Valley region may contact AGL, Energy Australia, and Origin Energy, Red Energy, when requesting a new connection.
Finding an energy retailer for billing purposes
Once you have your new gas connection completed at your property, it's up to you to decide which energy retailer to set up an ongoing billing account with.
The Australian Energy Regulator (AER) has created an online comparison tool ('Energy made easy') to assist customers choose the right energy retailer. You can click here to access this tool on the AER's website.
We encourage you to visit the AER's website for some handy tips to bear in mind while shopping around for the best deal. For example, the AER suggests that you:

Review copies of your last couple of bills, so you have a solid understanding of your energy usage and what you've previously paid.
