What is natural gas?

Natural gas is an odourless and colourless fossil fuel, formed from the decomposed remains of plants and animals. Over millions of years, this decomposition creates natural gases (mainly consisting of methane) that become trapped in rock formations, deep underground.

Natural gas consists mainly of methane - a natural, non-toxic and non-carcinogenic by-product of animal digestion and vegetation decay.
