The Connection Process

Whether you’re making the move to natural gas for your new home or an existing home, we are here to help make the connection process easy.

  • Step 1

    Chat to your builder

Tell them you want gas in your home, and they’ll arrange to get you connected. You should also discuss which gas appliances you plan to install.

So what exactly will they do?

    1. They'll lodge a request with us to install a service line - the connection from the gas mains in your street to the meter on your property.
    2. While building your home, they'll keep in mind a suitable location for the gas meter - which will be chosen during a visit from a meter installer.
    3. Your builder will also arrange someone to install the gas pipes, meter and appliances at your property.

    tip

If you have a preferred meter location, you can tell your installer on the day. Make sure there’s nothing in the way of safe and easy access to the property, like dogs or debris.

    tip
